SugaCayne Designs is a boutique design house that produces Caribbean carnival costumes & accessories for Toronto, Cayman, Miami, Chicago and Trinidad. To provide some background, Caribbean Carnival is a yearly celebration in most Caribbean nations that originated in Trinidad and dates back to the 18th century with a long-standing tradition of elaborate and detailed costume production techniques. Toronto's version of Carnival began in 1967 as a one-time gift from the Canadian Government, in celebration of their Centennial year of independence. Fifty-plus (50+) years later, now known as The Toronto Caribbean Carnival, has grown to become North America's largest street festival and the second largest Caribbean Carnival in the world, attracting over 1.3 million visitors and generating over $400M annually during the first week of August.
